Tulipmania at San Francisco's Pier 39
A sure sign that spring is fast approaching is the burst of color radiated by thousands of tulips at Tulipmania, an annual festival held at San Francisco’s Pier 39. This free event, going on now through February 24, 2013, features countless varieties of tulips as well as daffodils, poppies and other seasonal garden favorites. Free, guided landscaping tours are offered each morning beginning at 10am at Pier 39’s entrance plaza. Following the 30 minute tour, participants can enjoy complimentary refreshments at the Wines of California Wine Bar. Pier 39 is located in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf and offers two levels of dining, entertainment, shopping (over 110 specialty shops) and attractions.
