Dana Point: Doheny Blues Festival - On The Waterfront

Southern California has its share of outdoor music venues, but none quite match the setting of Doheny State Beach, a 62-acre state park in scenic Dana Point Harbor. On May 22nd and May 23rd, music will blanket portions of the park when the Doheny Blues Festival returns for its 13th year. Situated against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, the gathering will feature blues, rock and soul music performed by 26 acts on three stages.

Headlining this year will be Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Black Crows. Other acts include Taj Mahal, Robert Cray Band, Bettye LaVette and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. While attending, fans have the opportunity to meet the performers and purchase music at the on-site music store. Other attractions include microbrew tasting, an International Food Court & Vendor Village as well as merchandise booths. There’s even a Kids EcoZone, featuring craft and music filled activities for the kids. Plenty of parking is provided, but if you live in the vicinity, dust off your bicycle and pedal your way there. Always environmentally aware, the festival is offering a Bike Valet, just one of their green solutions for this year.

General Admission Tickets (if purchased by 5/21/10): $50 for 1 day, $80 for 2 days. Kids ticket pricing and VIP packages available.
