When was the last time you visited a museum? If the cost of admission was keeping you away, you’ll enjoy this offer. Twenty-six (26) museums in the greater Sacramento area will be offering free admission on Saturday, February 5, 2011 for the 13th Annual Sacramento Museum Day. Designed to encourage folks to experience the Capital City’s abundance of art, history, science and wildlife, it’s an ideal time to delve into the wide variety of museums the area has to offer. More than 85,000 guests took advantage of the offer last year, so start early and visit a museum new to you or return to one of your favorites.
Sacramento’s Museum Day is presented by the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM), and supported by Umpqua Bank. Museum Day hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last guest admitted at 4 p.m. Free shuttles will operate throughout the day with stopping points located adjacent to many participating museums.
