Southwest Airlines is taking the chill out of winter with its red-hot Winter Sale airfares. Fly to select destinations nationwide for as low as $59 each way. Just purchase tickets by Nov. 22, 2010 and travel between Dec. 1, 2010 and Feb. 16, 2011. Seats are limited and require 14 days advance purchase. Fares are blacked out for holiday travel (December 17 - January 3, 2011), but there are plenty of dates available to sneak in a fabulous winter vacation or weekend getaway.
Sample one way airfares to California include $139 from Baltimore to Los Angeles, $159 between Boston and San Francisco and $89 from Denver to San Diego. Within California you can fly between San Diego or Los Angeles and Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose or Sacramento for as low as $59 each way. Don’t forget that your first two bags fly free on Southwest. That’s an additional savings of $25 or more per bag over other airlines, making these winter fares even sweeter.
