RoboGames in San Mateo April 19-21,2013
It’s not surprising that in the competitive world of electronic gadgets that there’s a competition dedicated entirely to robotics. One such competition, RoboGames - the world’s largest robot competition - sets up shop in San Mateo this weekend.
Robots compete in RoboGames
Professionals and amateurs from all over the world will compete in over 50 different events designed to entertain, challenge, and stimulate creativity. Engineering principles such as vision recognition, electronic circuitry and motion control will be put to the test by the robots, some of which are autonomous, others operate by remote control. Events such as combat and soccer bots engage the crowd to cheer on their favorite contender, while other events such as fire-fighters are precursors to real life-saving applications.
